Youth To Be Served In Columbus

The Columbus Blue Jackets did a little bit of housecleaning on Wednesday, sending both Mike York and Maxim Mayorov down to the minors. With a lot of the youth coming up in the Jackets organization, a guy like Mike York is becoming increasingly expendible.

The name that immediately comes to mind is Jakub Voracek, who has been doing a good job for Columbus in the pre-season, including an assist in their last game against Chicago on Monday. With Voracek on the rise, there will be less pressure on Nikita Filatov to make the jump right away.
