The Avalanche may have solved their goaltending crisis or just delayed it just a little. They have signed UFA goaltender, Craig Anderson, to a 2-year deal worth $3.6 million in total. That will work out to a very economical $1.8 million against the cap for the Avalanche, which is exactly what the doctor ordered in Denver.Anderson managed to pick up 37 pool points in 2009; 15 wins, 3 shutouts and 1 assist, with the Florida Panthers and was starting to look like a candidate for a starting job somewhere. Well, now that he has signed in Colorado, that will be the perfect place to get a number one job solidified. He will have to battle Peter Budaj in training camp, but most circles would suggest that should be a walk in the park.
Moving to a number one job will make his stock rise significantly in fantasy circles, so keep a close eye on him in training camp.

With Anderson in tow, the Avalanche now have 16 players signed onto their roster at an approximate cap cost of $47.7 million. They are slowly moving into a more comfortable position for some more attractive free agents this summer.
