The Senators are far from being done in this off-season, especially since they have that dark cloud lingering over top of them. The Dany Heatley situation has escalated to some far-reaching developments, which doesn't reflect well on him or the Sens, in my opinion. The Sens have done well to add Alex Kovalev to the mix, but he isn't even close to a suitable replacement for Heatley at the end of the day. Once Heatley is out of the picture, the only real improvement that I can see is in net, as Pascal Leclaire should bring some stability, if his injured ankle is up to task.Fantasy-wise, the loss of Heatley should negatively affect Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza's numbers, despite Kovalev's arrival. I do like the blueline in Ottawa, especially with Chris Campoli, but not enough to say that Leclaire will walk away with some easy wins more often than not.

Under the cap, the Sens with Heatley are in really good shape, having 20 players signed on (above) at a rate of $55.2 million, leaving just enough space for some depth players to fill up the roster. Saying that, they have eight defenders on their list, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to move one in a deal when the Heatley domino falls. The team also needs to lock up Brian Elliot, who remains on the market as a restricted free agent, poised to be Leclaire's back-up this coming season. His signing is also likely depending on the Heatley situation as well, just so the numbers can be locked in for negotiations.
I can't wait to see how the Heatley situation gets rectified, personally.
