Reports are indicating that the Panthers have re-signed
David Booth to a new 6-year deal on Wednesday. The deal is said to be worth $25.5 million in total, saving him from restricted free agency and the possibility of an offer sheet coming from another team. This is good news for the Panthers, as he is quickly turning into a good player for that franchise.

In 2009, David Booth was third on the Panthers in pool scoring with 31 goals & 29 assists in 72 GP. That also ranks him 77th in league pool scoring, 58th among forwards. Those are some great numbers for the 24-year old forward. He'll be a good fantasy player for years to come in Florida. He does a lot of that good work with a somewhat limited talent pool.
| Forwards | Defense | Goaltenders |
| Stephen Weiss | Bryan McCabe | Tomas Vokoun |
| David Booth | Keith Ballard | |
| Nathan Horton | Bryan Allen | |

The deal also makes a lot of good financial sense, especially for the Panthers. They now sit at 17 players signed @ $44.4 million, leaving themselves ample room for new players, if their season budget calls for it.
