Hard to Change the Bruins

After the signing of Matt Hunwick on Monday, the Bruins should now be able to dress a full team, minus a bench player or two, be competitive and still come underneath the cap. The Bruins likely aren't done with their dealings this summer, as they have to find a new home for Phil Kessel, who has been squeezed out due to cap constraints and the possibility of a deal worth the market value for him.

The one problem with the Bruins off-season is that they haven't been able to adequately replace the scoring that Kessel will leave this summer. It will be hard to find an extra 36 goals in the current line-up, so the Vezina Trophy winner, Tim Thomas, will have to be better in 2010. Look for some new youth to help the scoring issue, as they are blessed with some quality talent in the system.

The Bruins have 19 quality players signed onto their roster (see above) at a high cap hit of $53.1 million, which doesn't leave much to any room for a guy like Phil Kessel, but the Bruins would be hard pressed to fit any roster players in from a deal that would see Kessel go out of town.

If last year was any indication, the Bruins should be a hot bed for fantasy points. Their forwards could go as deep as Patrice Bergeron, while the defense is really good through Matt Hunwick, while Tim Thomas should eat up all sorts of minutes this season.
