Sabres Run the Status Quo

There hasn't been a lot of change out of the Sabres' organization this summer, which has focussed more on the re-signing of some of their RFAs, rather than going out and picking up some of the major UFAs on the market. The biggest name acquired so far this summer is defenseman, Steve Montador, who should solidify the blueline a little more in front of Ryan Miller, but the team still seems rather short on offense going into the later summer period.

The Sabres should be a little more desperate to find some help for their top four forwards on the chart, as they suffered without some of their supporting talent last season. This would make the Sabres a lot more competitive for a playoff spot and be better fantasy-wise in 2010.

The Sabres haven't really spent their cap space too wisely, as they don't carry a lot of strength in their depth up front, but still have an average cap hit of $3.6 million through their 8 signed forwards. (NOTE: Clarke MacArthur has signed and would be added to the list, but his cap number is yet to be disclosed) Overall, the Sabres have 16 players on their roster list above and it carries a $49.3 million cap hit, which leaves about a $1 million for each player remaining for a full 23-man roster.

The Sabres also have to re-sign Drew Stafford, who remains a restricted free agent without arbitration rights.
