The Flyers have a new goaltending tandem in place by re-acquiring Brian Boucher, this time off of the free agent wire, by signing him to a 2-year deal worth $1.8 million in total. Boucher will now join Ray Emery as the Flyers' new keepers, which should make for some interesting days in net for Philly.
In San Jose, Boucher picked up 12 wins and 2 shutouts for 28 pool points in 2009, which made him a pretty capable back-up goalie. He should be considered the back-up to Emery right now, which does keep his numbers fairly low, but Emery won't be playing as many games as Evgeni Nabokov did last season for the Sharks, so Boucher's numbers could be good enough for a good back-up role goalie.
