Kipper Sits One Out

Only a few days after receiving the H1N1 vaccination with his teammates, Miikka Kiprusoff was not feeling at his best to take one of his scheduled starts on Wednesday night, forfeiting the start versus the Dallas Stars to his back-up, Curtis McElhinney. There doesn't seem to be too much to the illness, it was just a matter of being able to make the start or not and he'll remain questionable for the start against St. Louis tonight.

ImplicationsThe start for McElhinney was bound to happen, as the Flames really don't want to overwork Kiprusoff, but since he's on Larry's team in the Draft, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if Kipper was overworked, as long as he was winning and getting him points. With Kiprusoff on the bench, Larry has both of his goaltenders out of commission, so he'll have to rely on some scoring up front to get himself back in the game.

On the Sheet, Kiprusoff is very popular with 14 picks in Box 15, only four behind Roberto Luongo for the picks lead. In terms of points, Kiprusoff is eight points behind co-leaders, Ilya Bryzgalov and Evgeni Nabokov.
