Former Draft defenseman, Erik Karlsson, was recalled by the Senators on Friday, as the team sent down Brian Lee to Binghamton of the AHL. Karlsson, a first round pick of the Sens in 2008, is going to be a good offensive defenseman down the line, but he'll get another chance to show his stuff this weekend with the recall. Once he is on the ice for a game this weekend, the Senators will have committed to his entry-level deal, but his 11 assists in 12 games with the Baby Sens seems to be enough to convince the big club to have him up.
He could very well be a high priority in the second Waiver Draft in seven weeks.
The Coyotes have also recalled one of their youngsters on Friday, as Mikkel Boedker is making his way back to the big club today. Boedker has played six games with the Coyotes this year, but he has been in the minors for the better part of this season for some maturing and working on his game.
