The rigors of the packed schedule may be catching up with Anaheim's Joffrey Lupul, as he was not able to go on Saturday night against the Sharks due to a stiff and sore back. Lupul apparently tried to skate on it on Saturday morning in the pregame, but with him out of the line-up, it was a definite sign that he wasn't ready to go. The Ducks haven't said anything in the way of major injury, so we'll just consider him day-to-day for now.
I didn't really notice this, but the John B. experience is now one of extreme bad luck. Lupul is just one of eight players, one still to be posted on the blog, on the news page, either injured or having just returned to the line-up. When you're on the list, it does mean you have picked up an injury or a scratch, so it hasn't been good for John, who now sits in last place in the standings. You now know why that's the case.
Lupul is a Box 5 forward on the Sheet, taken three times. He sits in the middle of the scoring ranks in that box, already 11 points behind the also-injured Rene Bourque of the Flames.
