Well, I'm thinking that this will be the final Brendan Shanahan post on the blog, as this one chronicles his official retirement from the game after 21 NHL seasons.
Shanahan was well-travelled in his 21-year career, going from New Jersey to St. Louis to Hartford to Detroit to the Big Apple and back to New Jersey. He played in 1,524 games, scoring 656 goals and 698 assists. He is certainly known as a class act in the league and will no doubt be enshrined in the Hall of Fame when his ballot comes.
