Numminen to Have Heart Surgery

Defenseman Teppo Numminen will undergo a surgical procedure on his heart in the next day or two. Numminen, 39, has had a history of heart problems since he was a young child and his condition seems to need some more attention before the season starts. He has had a few surgeries for his heart during his career, which hasn't hindered the amount of games terribly, so hopefully he'll make it through alright and be back in the line-up. You may want to downgrade the priority for Numminen on your pool list. Be prepared to add a new Sabre defenseman to your list, just in case.
