2015 Draft Class Signings (Sep 14)

The rookie camps are important for the coaching staff and management to get a good look at some of their prospects, even their unsigned talent. The Calgary Flames took notice of their top pick in the 2015 draft, defenseman Rasmus Andersson, who was taken in the 2nd round, 53rd overall.

At the YoungStars tournament in Penticton, Andersson played in a pair of games, picking up an assist, 5 PIM and was a -1.

Last season, Andersson played for the Barrie Colts in the OHL,where he picked up 64 points in 67 games, racking up some serious points for his junior club.

The defense for the Flames is very stacked, but giving out the entry-level deal won't hurt them at all, since Andersson can go back to junior as an 18-year old and they won't lose any years on his deal for a couple years yet, giving him plenty of time to develop.
