A couple of absentees from Habs practice on Monday morning, as forwards Alex Semin and David Desharnais didn't take the ice. Semin is reportedly nursing a foot injury, while Desharnais is dealing with a lower-body issue. There's no indication that either one is serious and both are considered to be day-to-day for right now.
Semin will draw some definite interest, as he is now back on 1-year contracts, something that has been good for him in years past. He has already drawn some good early reviews from camp and it will be interesting to see how that translates into preseason action.
The Boston Bruins updated the status of Seth Griffith, who was hurt in Sunday night's preseason action against the Devils. It is expected that he will miss 3-to-4 weeks with an MCL sprain and his inclusion on the injury list should ensure that he won't feature in this year's draft, rather he'll have to make an appearance through the mid-season swaps.
We're getting ready for 12 more games tonight, so check back in on Tuesday morning, see who shaped up and leapt into the blog post.
