The San Jose Sharks cut down their roster by 14 players on Monday afternoon, included in those demotions was defenseman Julius Bergman, who I had projected for about 15 points, back at the end of August. Bergman was one of those young players, 19 years old, who has had some rave reviews in his early years and with very few top end defenders on the Sharks' projected roster, this could have been his year.
Bergman is set to head down to the AHL, since he was drafted out of Europe, he is eligible to play with their new team down there, which means he'll also be eligible to come up when the Sharks need him. His 15 points have now been cut down to 5 to start the season.
