The Boston Bruins are potentially going to go with some youth as Tuukka Rask's back-up this season, but they will be challenged in training camp by the Monster, as the Bruins have invited Jonas Gustavsson to their training camp, which opens in a couple weeks.
Last season, Gustavsson spent the better part of the 2015 season on the Injured Reserve, as he battled through a separated shoulder in the first part of the season and then a concussion in the second half of the season, limiting him to seven NHL games and two AHL games, picking up 3 wins and 1 shutout with the Red Wings for 8 points.
Gustavsson will be going into challenge Malcolm Subban and Zane McIntyre for the number two spot with the big club and I wouldn't necessarily count him out, as the B's might be looking to develop their kids with more starts in the AHL. I would say that if Gustavsson does earn a job and sign with the Bruins, he'll take the projected points from both kids, heading into the draft.
