With training camps only the working week away, the trickling of invites keep coming in. Late on Sunday, it was added to the list that the Washington Capitals added forward Derek Roy to their camp list, adding some real experience to their camp roster this weekend.
Roy has really bounced around since his time in Buffalo, having played in both Nashville and Edmonton, chalking up 72 games, 12 goals and 32 points between the two teams. At age 32, he should still have some legs left, he'll just need some sort of stability to really excel.
With the top six in Washington theoretically set, Roy is going to have to work to get into that bottom six, which has plenty of veteran experience in it already. If not, he'll be auditioning for the other 29 teams during preseason play.
