Fringe Signings (Sep 10)
The Calgary Flames made an early morning report official around midday, as restricted free agent forward Micheal Ferland signed a 2-year deal, worth $825,000 per season and works out to be a one-way deal, which will see him get paid, if he's with the big club or not over the next couple of seasons.
Ferland became a player of note near the end of the 2015 season, when he returned to the lineup at the end of February, finishing off the regular season with the big club and even making a number of playoff appearances. In 26 regular season games, he posted 5 points, not quite making him into a pool worthy player, but the Hockey News has him projected at 15 points this year. Depending on how deep the pool goes, he could work his way into being a fringe player.
