Recent Contract Extensions (Sep 27)
The core in Chicago is properly locked up with the deal that Brent Seabrook signed on Saturday night, inking an 8-year, $55 million contract extension.
Seabrook was headed to unrestricted free agency after the 2016 season, but the Blackhawks are more than confident that the money that they are spending on their core group of players, makes all the difference in the world and that depth can be built around them. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith, Marian Hossa, Artem Anisimov and Corey Crawford join Seabrook as the core group, all signed through the 2020 season.
For the upcoming season, expectations are about the same across the board for Seabrook, expecting to be in the 35-to-40 point range.
