Handing Out Camp Invites (Sep 13)

The Blackhawks were not done with their trades and signings over the weekend, they also threw together an invite for veteran defenseman Jan Hejda.

Under the right circumstances, Hejda could be a pool worthy defenseman again, especially if he was to get some regular minutes with the high-powered Chicago offense.  There are no guarantees for that sort of thing, but at the very least, he could definitely help challenge some of the Chicago youth on the blueline.

Last season with the Blue Jackets, Hejda scored 1 goal and 13 points in 81 games.

Another ex-pool worthy forward is getting a shot with a camp invite, as the Montreal Canadiens are welcoming Tomas Fleischmann to theirs, hoping he could recapture some of his offensive flare we had once seen from him.

Last season with the Panthers and Ducks, he posted 8 goals and 27 points in 66 total games, missing some time to falling out of favour with the coaching staff in Florida.  He wasn't overly effective with the Ducks in his time there, only registering 6 points in 14 games.
