The Winnipeg Jets were busy shifting some paperwork around in player transactions, as they have activated Drew Stafford from the Injured Reserve and he is expected to play tonight against the Minnesota Wild. At the other end of the spectrum, the Jets placed defenseman Tyler Myers on the Injured Reserve, retroactive to the 11th, with his lower-body injury, which means he is eligible to return whenever he is healthy, because he has already missed over a week with the injury already.
This is good news for Benson, getting a body back in his race for 1st place, while Ryan's player status doesn't necessarily change, it just means that we now know he's out for the team's "next game" until he is activated from the IR.
The Buffalo Sabres are expecting to have Ryan O'Reilly back in their lineup tonight, when they take on the Red Wings. He has been out for the last couple of weeks with a mid-body injury, but has been working his way back over the last few days and it now sounds like he's ready. The Sabres were also quite happy to see that Jack Eichel is making strides on returning soon, as he has joined the team for practice, as he is coming back from a high ankle sprain.
The return of O'Reilly is great news for Dale B., who could really use some with the injury to Sean Couturier last night. Dale's team is in 8th place today, 5 points back of 7th and O'Reilly could certainly give a boost to his numbers.
