The survivor pool continues to chug on this week and on Tuesday night, we only saw two more teams qualify for Week Six, as Stuart and Stacey M. each picked up wins from their keepers on the night.
It's not a very busy night on Wednesday, but all three games on the docket are survival games, keeping it plenty interesting.
Mike will get two shots at Week Six on Wednesday night, the first coming from Sergei Bobrovsky and the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are entertaining the Anaheim Ducks. Although it hasn't been confirmed at the time of the post, it is expected that we'll see John Gibson in the Ducks' net, giving Dale B. a start.
Jeremy gets a survivor start in the middle game of the schedule tonight, as Robin Lehner gets the call for the Buffalo Sabres with the Ottawa Senators in town. His opposition doesn't have any stock in the hockey pool in the first segment of the season, as Mike Condon will make his second start for the Senators. Condon won his first game by way of a shutout, so this won't be a cakewalk for the Sabres.
Big Central Division rivalry game and a preview of this year's Winter Classic, as the Chicago Blackhawks will take on the St. Louis Blues. Yes, this is obviously where Mike gets his second crack at Week Six, if needed. Jake Allen will be the starting goalie for the Blues, but he will have to up against Marcin's 1st round pick, Corey Crawford. This game doesn't really need the survivor pool to make it interesting, it's probably the one to watch tonight.
