Week Eight still figures to be pretty busy, as the NHL schedule will be 50 games deep, but this isn't the US Thanksgiving week, which really through the schedule into a funny setup. No, it looks like we're back to normal again and it's only two games on the schedule tonight.
And wouldn't ya know it? Both games have already announced their goalies, so let's get after it.
The only one of the two games tonight are of the survival variety and it's a head-to-head match-up, as Antti Niemi will go for Wilton, our current Mover & Shaker, while Jake Allen will go for Mike, the pool leader in wins. This game certainly has some potential to be a doozy and it is the later of the two games on the sched, as the Stars and Blues start at 6pm MT.
In the early game, it could have been another head-to-head survival game, but neither team wanted to dress those keepers, so it's an all-eliminated snooze fest between the Flames and Islanders, who will send Brian Elliott out to take on Thomas Greiss. It's probably good for Derek B. and Dale B. that they get a start each, both could really use the win and try and climb back up the standings. It just does nothing for the mini-game is all.
