On Tuesday afternoon, the Carolina Hurricanes announced that defenseman Justin Faulk will be out indefinitely, on a week-to-week basis, with an upper-body injury.
Faulk was hurt on Monday night, when the Hurricanes and Devils clashed, but there has been no details about the injury, but the timetable is certainly not a positive one.
In 11 games this season, Faulk ranks 204th in pool scoring with 3 goals and 6 points and has also chipped in with 8 PIM in those games as well.
This will be a pretty tough one to swallow for Eric, who has a team that ranks near the bottom of the standings, but his defense has been the biggest bright spot on his team, as they rank 6th in the pool in the position, with 25 points. Now, his 22nd place team will have to deal without one of their best players. It might also be a good thing his team ranks 5th in the PIM pool, 33 minutes back... just in case!
