Canes' Darling to Miss A Couple Weeks

The Carolina Hurricanes gave goaltender Scott Darling an MRI over the last 24 hours, which didn't reveal anything major, in regards to the lower-body injury he suffered in the team's last preseason game on Sunday.  The team's coaching staff have suggested that he could be out of the lineup for at least a couple of weeks.

Darling was set to do battle with Petr Mrazek for the number one job this season, but the injury will open the door for the team's newcomer in the off-season, as they try and get off to a much better start than they did last year.

In the pool, both Carolina goaltenders were taken, Darling was snagged by Ryan in the 6th round, while Stacey C. seemed to think Mrazek would have been the better bet, taking him in the 4th round of the draft.  It looks like Stacey will get off to a better start from the crease over the next couple of weeks.
