Good news today... the Arizona Coyotes activated forward Alex Galchenyuk from the Injured Reserve on Tuesday and he'll make his season debut tonight in Columbus. Galchenyuk was hurt in the preseason and has yet to see any action yet, but he was skating on the team's top line in practice over the last couple of days, so he will likely be pumped to get going for a team that has been struggling of late.
Wes started the season short-handed, but gets one of those bodies back, only three weeks too late really. His team opens play on Tuesday night in 19th place, 18 points out of 3rd spot. Will Galchenyuk be the savior for the Coyotes?
More good news? Well okay, then. The Columbus Blue Jackets will have a season debut of their own tonight too, as Seth Jones was activated from the Injured Reserve on Monday and he will make his debut in the same game, really strengthening their defense by a whole bunch. Jones suffered an MCL sprain in the preseason and is on the early end of the 4-to-6 weeks timeline for his return, so this is a big boost for the Jackets.
It's also a big boost for Stuart's team, which sits in 10th place on his return, only 10 points back of 3rd place. Jones should bring a good offensive element to the Jackets' game and that should be a big boost to everyone on the team.
