Hamhuis to the IR

There was a quick hit on Twitter from last night, which suggested that Nashville Predators defenseman Dan Hamhuis had been placed on the Injured Reserve, but the details were not quite there for a full report.  In doing some digging, there still wasn't a lot, in terms of actual reporting, but looking at the report from Tuesday night's game against San Jose, he did leave the game in the 2nd period with an undisclosed injury, not to return, so at least we know when he was hurt.  His placement on the IR will be retroactive to Tuesday, which means he'll be eligible to return next Tuesday, when the Predators host the Golden Knights.

Of course, if he is out any longer than the minimum one week, I would trust that the Predators would issue some kind of statement for it, but for now, they know he is going to be out for the minimum and they could also still be doing some testing to be sure.  We'll wait and see.

The veteran blueliner has 1 assist in his first seven games this season and has also featured as a healthy scratch a couple of times as well.  It hasn't been the greatest of starts for Hamhuis in this 2019 season.

In the hockey pool, he belongs to Jesse's 7th place team, which sits only 7 points out of the money at the moment.  His blueline has been underwhelming to start the year, tied for 22nd in the pool with only 11 points, to date.
