Preds to Play Without Rinne

Friday's game between the Predators and Flames in Nashville was a bit of a costly win for the home side, as they lost their number one goalie, Pekka Rinne, with a still-undisclosed injury.  Rinne collided with a teammate in the 3rd period, leaving with 15 minutes to go in the game, not to return.

On Saturday, he was placed on the Injured Reserve and he will now miss Tuesday and Thursday's game, already sitting out Saturday's contest.  Juuse Saros will get the nod with Rinne on the shelf and the team called up Troy Grosenick on Monday to act as his backup for the time being.  There's still no description of the injury or a timetable for his return.

For John P., this leaves his team with no goalies as both of his keepers are now hurt and on the Injured Reserve.  His other goalie, Roberto Luongo, couldn't make it through the first game without a teammate falling on him as well.  A strange set of coincidences here.

John's team will open Week Four in 15th place, 16 points out of the money and no goalies to aid him in his climb up the standings.  This could be a long stretch for his side.
