Morning Player Notes (Oct 27)

On Friday night in Vegas, Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman took a rough ride from Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves in an open-ice collision, which sent the big defender into the boards awkwardly. Hedman was able to get up and skate off under his own power without the play stopping, but he left the game with an injury, not to return.  The Lightning did clear him in the concussion testing, which was good news, but his availability for tonight's game in Arizona does appear to still be in question.

Hedman wasn't the only Lightning player hurt on Friday, as forward Ondrej Palat suffered an injury while blocking a shot, leaving the game, not to return as well.  There was no indication, one way or the other, as to whether or not Palat would be active for tonight's game either.

Dale C. picked up Hedman this year and Stacey M. has Palat on her side and both teams are vying for the Mover & Shaker this week, Stacey's team being one of two with 23 points at the start of play this morning, while Dale's team is 4 points back.  Injuries like this could hurt their chances at that coveted spot in the Newsletter on Monday morning.
