Noon Player Notes (Oct 28)

There's lots of blogging to cover for the hockey pool on this Sunday, so we'll do it in drips and drabs, starting with the healthy scratches. Calgary Flames forward Mark Jankowski came back out of the lineup on Saturday for their game against the Capitals, meaning that Derek Ryan drew back into the lineup. The Flames held their ground with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Capitals, but they'll probably still look for some better consistency through their lineup, one way or the other.

Mike saw his forward draw back in, while Wes lost another man game to the healthy scratch yesterday.  Both teams really hoping that their teams can hold their ground before the Waiver Draft in a month's time, as they need a definite boost here soon.

The Colorado Avalanche haven't been short on primary scoring this season, having a couple of the top scorers in the league, but they will likely clamor for some more secondary scoring, just in case the big guys have an off-night.  Tyson Jost has been on the coaching staff's radar, obviously, since he was a healthy scratch last night, when the Avalanche took on the Minnesota Wild.  The Avs dropped that road game and they won't play again until Thursday, on the road in Calgary.

I don't think Steve really missed that man-game last night, as the rest of his team has been on fire in Week Four, tied for the lead for the Mover & Shaker and goes into Sunday with a 1-point lead in the overall standings.  Sure, a missed game is a missed game, but he won't cry over spilled milk here.
