Huge news announced on Monday afternoon, as Derrick Brassard has decided for shoulder surgery to repair his separated shoulder, which he suffered against Dallas in the early part of last week. This is supposed to sideline the rookie for the remainder of the season, which really puts a damper, if not a stop, to his Calder Trophy aspirations.
This is the risk you run with any player you take in a hockey pool or any sports pool, but it especially hurts when you pick him up mid-season, only for him to play 9 games, like he did for Don in the Draft. Well, this will be an easy decision for the next drop in the second Waiver Draft. Unlucky.
