Saturday Morning Round-Up

The Sabres were without defenseman Craig Rivet on Friday night, as he re-aggrevated his upper body injury that he suffered through a week ago. Rivet missed two games with the injury earlier, but will likely rest until he's 100% again. Rivet was dropped in the Draft already this year and wasn't a popular pick in Box 26.

The Dallas Stars' woes continued this week as Box 12 defenseman, Stephane Robidas, will sit out for about a week with a broken jaw. Robidas has played in 27 games for the Stars this year and has registered 13 points (1G, 12A), which puts him at the top of the scoring heap for all Dallas defenders.

The Oilers must be getting healthier again, which means that Gilbert Brule will be heading back to the AHL where he'll have to wait for his next opportunity to impress the Oilers' coaching staff. In 2 games with Edmonton, Brule failed to register a point, which is likely the biggest reason as to why he's being sent back down. No immediate returns.

The Devils exploded on the Rangers for eight goals and Tomas Zajac had a pair of them in the win. Unfortunately for Zajac, he left the game with an undisclosed injury, not to return for the Devils. The Box 24 forward was just starting to catch fire this season, as his season totals are now 7 goals and 12 assists in 26 games. Zajac could be a prime candidate for the next Waiver Draft.

The Sharks received some injury news yesterday, as they'll be without veteran forward, Jeremy Roenick, for the next couple of weeks. Roenick suffered a shoulder injury in the Sharks' last contest against the Ducks. Roenick is a member of Box 6, but shouldn't be a member of your team at the moment or at all. Roenick only has 8 points in 27 games and doesn't provide a good enough offensive punch to help you win the pool.

John P.'s draft pick, Anton Stralman, was back to being a healthy scratch for the Leafs on Friday night. Stralman has been a scratch on more than one occasion this season and has only played in 21 games for Toronto, registering 7 points (1G, 6A). Stralman hasn't turned out to be the force that Toronto was hoping for this season and may sit another game to think about his struggles.

Finally, the Capitals were on the road to recovery, having both Sergei Fedorov and Mike Green re-join the line-up on Friday night, but during the morning skate, Jose Theodore suffered a hip flexor injury, which kept him out of the line-up. There's a good chance that he'll be re-evaluated today to see how long he's out of the line-up. In the Draft, Chris hopes that he isn't out for very long.
