Flyers Injury Update

Well, in what was first disclosed as back spasms, Matt Carle's injury seems to be a bit worse than that. Carle is suffering from a rib muscle injury, which gives him intense pain in simple motions like breathing. Carle has already missed the last four games and has said that the injury has not gotten any better since the injury occurred. A lot of injury lists will now have him as out indefinitely and rightly so. I would imagine there will be some further tests involved with this injury to accurately determine how long he'll be out for.

In 23 games between Tampa Bay and Philadelphia, Carle has 2 goals and 3 assists and resides in Box 29 of the Sheet.

Randy Jones should be getting close to returning to the Flyers' line-up, which could be as soon as this weekend. With Carle's injury not getting better, the team may not have to make any moves regarding their defensemen to get him in the line-up. Jones has yet to play a game this season, suffering a hip injury in the pre-season. He was dropped in the first Waiver Draft and could be a prime defender for the second Draft at the end of January.
