Things have not gone well for Sergei Zubov this season. Zubov hasn't been able to figure into very much action this year, thanks to a myriad of injuries. Now, it's a hip injury that has him back on the IR and he'll be undergoing surgery to repair his hip next month. This will likely mean that his season is pretty much close to being done, as it is likely a similar procedure that has kept Randy Jones of the Flyers out of action for the first 12 weeks of the season. If the surgery isn't to take place for another couple weeks, that'll have him setback to about Week 26 of 28.
Zubov, a Draft pick of Larry's, has only played in 12 games this season for Dallas, registering only 4 assists in that time. HIs fantasy value has taken a serious hit, as he's pretty much worthless this season. It will be interesting to see how his injury will affect his long-term status in the fantasy ranks. I would have to think that the thought of retirement is somewhat passing through his head.
