Another Early Conclusion for DiPietro
The Islanders have shut franchise goaltender Rick DiPietro down for the remainder of the regular season, as hope begins to dwindle for their playoff lives. DiPietro, added to the selection sheet this year in Box 31, did not see much action this year, before suffering a sports hernia, one that will require surgery to repair. The actual prognosis is that DiPietro could be ready to go for early April, which would leave him a week or two worth of action, if any, but with his health being a regular concern every year, it seems rather doubtful that he'll play again this year.
