Draft Player News (Jan. 17)

A personal matter kept Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley out of the team's line-up for Monday night against the Florida Panthers and it is also expected to keep him out for their Tuesday night game in Tampa Bay.  Peverley had to go back home to Boston, while the team continues on their road trip, but he is likely to rejoin the team, when they hit New Jersey on Thursday and be good to go for that game.

It is just a couple of games that Brenda F. will miss out of Peverley this week, by the sound of things, so that isn't too bad.  You don't want to lose games from your players this way, but that's just the way of the world.  Brenda is locked in a battle for 9th place at the moment, only 1 point back in 10th spot, but holding on to a top half position is fairly clutch.

Panthers' defenseman Ed Jovanovski had to leave the game against the Bruins after getting into a 1st period fight with Dan Paille, with a hand injury. Jovanovski is apparently scheduled to see a specialist on Tuesday to see what the overall damage is, but the news of having to see a specialist doesn't sound overly positive, as they could be dealing with some broken bones.

Jovanovski belongs to the 14th place team of John P., who might have some ideas already of what to do with his second waiver draft moves, which are coming up in a couple weeks, so a broken hand will only complicate matters further.  This is not good news for John at all, who is 31 points out of the top 10.

According to the Nashville Predators' coaching staff, the status of defenseman Ryan Suter for Tuesday night's game against the New York Rangers is doubtful after leaving Monday afternoon's game against the Islanders with an upper-body injury. According to the report I had seen on Tuesday morning, Suter suffered the injury over the weekend and aggravated the injury on Monday, which leaves him on the outside looking in for tonight's game.  He'll be considered day-to-day for right now.

Jani K., who sits in 9th place in the pool, has Suter this season and is getting the right amount of production from the defender this season for his pick selection, picking up 25 points in 45 games, good enough for 153rd in pool scoring this year.  I don't think
