Sheet Player News (Jan. 26)

Another one of the players sent down to the minors, because a) they don't have to clear waivers to get there, b) it is salary cap effective through this week off if they go and c) they could still use a little bit more development in their game (ie. practice)... Magnus Paajarvi of the Oilers, the Box 7 forward for the team on the selection sheet this year, he was demoted on Wednesday to get some extra action down in the AHL, while the Oilers are on their break for a week. I'm sure injuries with the team will dictate whether or not he gets called up again, but they'll cross that bridge when they get there.

On Thursday morning, the New Jersey Devils announced that they sent down Box 24 forward Jacob Josefson and non-pool defenseman Matt Taormina to Albany of the AHL, just for the same reasons as above. No real surprise here and I would expect both players to get the recall notice when the All-Star weekend concludes.  With only 1 point in nine games, Josefson isn't a good bet for any fantasy hockey this season, but he does have an upside to him, so do keep an eye on him.
