Sheet Player News (Jan. 6)

There was a report last night from the Coyotes and Kings game that had said Phoenix defenseman Adrian Aucoin had left the game with an upper-body injury and his return was questionable. According to the boxscore, Aucoin played less than six minutes in the game, which would imply that he didn't play any more after the injury, so we'll assume the injury has stuck with him. The Box 11 defender has had a tough year with the Coyotes, having only 4 points in 36 games with the club and we will wait to see how bad the injury is to comment any further on what the rest of the year looks like.

It has also been an underachieving year for Sharks forward Torrey Mitchell, who only has 3 goals and 4 assists in 33 games this season and on Thursday night against the Blue Jackets, Mitchell was up in the press box as a healthy scratch.  A sure sign that the club is not very happy with your performance.  The Sharks called up Tommy Wingels to replace him in the line-up, which usually happens with an injury, so that might get the wheels spinning in the rumour mill, but they won't squeak too loudly, as Mitchell won't garner a lot of attraction.
