After two games played and nothing much to show for it, Dylan Strome is on his way to the minors to try and find his game again. Strome, the Coyotes' 3rd overall selection in the 2015 entry draft, has yet to show the chops of the type of player taken at this elevated draft position. Strome spent two extra seasons in junior after being drafted and he has yet to make an impact with the Coyotes, now heading to the minors for an undetermined amount of time. Taken behind Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel and in front of Mitch Marner, Noah Hanifin, Ivan Provorov, Zach Werenski, Mikko Rantanen, Sebastian Aho and others, he really should be in the mix by now.
The reigning champ took a flyer on the younger Strome on active NHL rosters, down in the 12th round, but this gamble may not pay off right away, with the demotion to the minors. Dale B. began the day in 13th, but after three afternoon games, sits in 15th in the standings and a body down.
