We're now up to 10 of 18 teams already qualified for Week Three in the goalie survival pool, which is already a pretty good turnaround for this mini game. So, as we move closer and closer to the end of the week, we'll be using this post for just the teams and games that will have some meaning in the mini-game. Games that feature two qualified goalies or goalies that were not taken in the pool, we'll just skip over. Just so you know.
The focus now shifts to the seven teams that still need a win to stay alive, so let's see what games are going to feature tonight.
Matt Murray (Stacey M.) versus Braden Holtby (Grant)
It's a prime time game in Washington tonight, as the Penguins and Capitals collide at the Verizon Center. Both Stacey and Grant are in need of wins in this midweek clash and this one isn't going to be easy, but is sure as hell should be entertaining, to say the least.
Tuukka Rask (Clayton) versus Semyon Varlamov (Stacey C.)
The home-and-home series between the Bruins and Avalanche will conclude in Denver tonight and the Bruins are going to try and do to the Avalanche that was done to them on Monday afternoon, taking a win away from home. Clayton still needs a win this week and this is his third crack at it already this week, but he'll still have a few more shots, if this one fails.
Mike Smith (Ryan) versus Jonathan Quick (Chris)
The Kings are entertaining the Flames road show tonight in Los Angeles in the late, late game and Chris still needs a win to qualify for Week Three, while Ryan got his win in the rare feat for the Flames, winning in Anaheim. Chris still has another four possible starts in the week remaining, so there shouldn't be any panic there... yet.
