Avs Put Jost on the IR

The Colorado Avalanche have shown some real improvement this season, playing at a .500 clip to start the season and a large part of that has to do with the play of the emerging youth in this club, but one of them won't be in the lineup for a little while, as Tyson Jost was placed on the Injured Reserve on Sunday.

The 19-year old rookie is dealing with a lower-body injury at the moment and is expected to miss the next 2-to-3 weeks, as he tries to sort that out and heal up as quickly as possible.  Jost had been dealing with some lower-body issues already in training camp and the preseason and now they have crept into the regular season.

In six games played already this year, the rookie has a goal and an assist to his tally.

Non-pool forward J.T. Compher was also put on the IR today, as he suffered a broken thumb this weekend and he's expected to miss at least three weeks as well.

This will sting pool newcomer Steve's team, as his team is definitely the recipient of this week's Basement Dweller in Week Three, only managing 13 points in the week and not having anyone playing in the only game on Sunday night. His team has dropped down to 24th spot, only 7 points better than Brenda & Seward's team, who also don't have anyone in tonight's game.
