The Coyotes may have left Radim Vrbata to go to unrestricted free agency, but obviously testing the waters didn't help Vrbata much at all, as he re-signed in Phoenix, taking a 3-year deal, said to be worth $9 million. The cap hit of $3 million is exactly what he had been making in his last deal, so money didn't improve for him in this crazy free agent frenzy.
Vrbata is a solid forward who can produce a fair amount of points, in 2011, he picked up 19 goals and 29 assists in 79 games in Phoenix, which was good enough to rank him 98th among all forwards. He should be considered to be a mid-round draft pick in the hockey pool this year and with some familiar faces surrounding him, it would be fair to expect the same kind of numbers from him.
