The St. Louis Blues added some more size to their blueline with the signing of Kent Huskins to a new 1-year, $1 million deal on Saturday. Huskins played in San Jose in the 2011 season, scoring 2 goals and adding 8 assists in 50 games for the club. Huskins is a big body and should fit in well with some of the other big defensemen in St. Louis, making it harder to get to Jaroslav Halak on any given night.
The Winnipeg Jets signed 29-year old defenseman Randy Jones to a 1-year deal, reportedly worth $1.15 million on Saturday afternoon, helping to bulk up the experience on the blueline. Jones played in 61 games for the Lightning in 2011, scoring 1 goal and adding 12 assists. Currently, Jones sits fifth on the depth chart for the Jets, so I don't imagine the points will get much better with his new home.
