The Flyers continued to break the hearts of their cross-state rivals, the Penguins, by signing another popular piece of their Stanley Cup history. Max Talbot signed a new deal with the Flyers, getting a 5-year deal, worth $9 million and will likely draw the ire of the fans from Pittsburgh for the deal's entirety.
Talbot is a solid role player, very gritty and pesky, which should fit with players like Wayne Simmonds and Blair Betts. Scoring-wise, Talbot does get some points, but not enough to make him into a top six player at all. In 2011, he scored 8 goals and 13 assists in all 82 games for the Penguins, so he does get the odd point here and there, but he's certainly not a fantasy player with those numbers.
