2013 2nd Round Draft Pick

The age of Andrew Cogliano in Edmonton is now over and done with, as the restricted free agent has now been dealt to the Anaheim Ducks for a 2nd round draft pick in the Entry Draft, two Summers from now.

Cogliano has not quite lived up to the expectations of being a 2005 1st round draft pick, falling short in the offensive production numbers.  He still has plenty of speed, but it could now be time for a role change, one to where he could be an effective 3rd line centre, but with the Oilers, he wasn't going to get the adequate coaching to turn into one, while in Anaheim, he should be able to get the Todd Marchant treatment and turn into a valuable asset down the middle.

I would expect Cogliano to sign another 1-year deal as a tryout, but I wouldn't quite call it his last chance just yet.
