A lower-body injury kept Alexander Semin from participating in Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, but he has remained on the ice for practices this week, but there really has been no indication as to the severity of the injury, but he remains a game-time decision for Friday night's contest against the Jets. The odds are not bad that Semin plays on Friday night, but the Capitals have called up Cody Eakin from Hershey of the AHL to take his spot, if necessary.
Dale C. now stands 25 points out of the money spot and losing games from one of his more proficient (albeit inconsistent) scorers on his team is making the likelihood that he storms back for a 5th place finish slim at best. Semin will be considered day-to-day, but Dale will need all the games he can get now.
