The Rangers have announced that Martin Biron will get the start in net on Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, as Henrik Lundqvist will be in the press box (or possibly forced to stay home) with a bout of the flu. The Rangers have called up Chad Johnson to back up Biron on Tuesday night, which means Lundqvist won't even dress tonight. This appears to be a scheduled start for Lundqvist that will be missed, but he should be able to bounce back from this in no time.
Well, this is a little bit of good news/bad news and they both have some meaning in the money races. I'll start with the good news, as Benson G. gets a surprise start for Biron, as he tries to chase down a money spot, sitting in 7th place and only 3 points out of 5th, tightly wound in the race with Allan S. and Stacey C., who sit 5th and 6th.
The bad news is for Stuart G., who has Lundqvist, and will not get a scheduled start to help his cause in 3rd place, both trying to catch 2nd and fend of 4th. He has a good bubble between both spots, but losing a game against the Hurricanes could be costly.
This is good stuff for the drama, isn't it?
