The Tampa Bay Lightning didn't have one of their top defensemen, Victor Hedman, for their game against the Philadelphia Flyers, to which they managed a 5-3 win on Monday night. Hedman was out of the line-up with a case of the flu and is considered to be day-to-day with the illness.
The Lightning are not mathematically eliminated from the Eastern Conference playoffs, but they are 7 points out with only seven games to go, so it doesn't look likely that they will be making it much further than the regular season.
This likely won't stop the Lightning from making a push offensively and if Hedman can make a jump back into the line-up here right away, he could be a part of that push, which is something that Allan S. is hoping for, as he is in the race for the money. Allan goes into Tuesday's action now, only 3 points out of 5th place, right in the middle of the race, so it is imperative that Hedman get healthy here and get back into the line-up.
