The Flyers reported on Thursday that Daniel Briere's exploratory surgery was a success and that they were able to repair a nerve entrapment, which was causing most of Briere's discomfort. The roller coaster ride of Briere's health may be coming to an end now, but he'll have to take the next four weeks off in order to recover completely from the surgery. This is two more weeks than thought needed earlier in the week, but necessary if the Flyers are going to want a playoff run with a 100% healthy Briere.
The question now is, 'what does Don do with Briere in the Draft?' Don already has an easy forward drop with Derrick Brassard, but does he drop Briere, because he will miss the first few weeks of the stretch run? He does run on a point per game average this season, 9 points in 9 games, but what will his production be like after such a long layoff? There are plenty of questions that need answering, as he does sit 27 points out of 9th place, which is included in the current money race. Stay tuned!
