The biggest hole to fill for Grant will be in net and Scott Clemmensen is the guy to take that spot. As of the end of Week Sixteen, there were three Devils atop the available players list, including Clemmensen, who still has upwards of eight weeks of work left before Martin Brodeur comes back from injury. Grant needs to make up 29 points in the last eleven weeks of the season to get out of the basement and Clemmensen is definitely a good step forward. Of course, his nearest opponents are also going to have the chance to upgrade their teams and keep him in the basement.
There are also two Bruins ready to be snapped up in the first round of the Waiver Draft, with Manny Fernandez and Blake Wheeler set to join the fray, which means good things for their eventual teams. Both players have been playing well with their ice-time for the East-leading Bruins.
Long-term injury problems will be solved in this first round, as Derrick Brassard, Joe Sakic, Paul Kariya, Ruslan Fedotenko and Pascal Leclaire will all be taken care of. Having active players with zero points every week is a little bit of a bummer and they need to be taken care of.

The second round of the Waiver Draft will give Grant a chance to make up for his first round mistake, as Christian Ehrhoff hasn't scored at anywhere near his torrid pace in the first nine weeks of the season. Ehrhoff only had 3 points in the second section of nine weeks, which is horribly disappointing. In Ehrhoff's stead, Grant could pick up Cam Barker of the high-flying Blackhawks. That should be another good step in the right direction.
The real prize of the second round, could possibly be, Patrik Berglund, who is having a great rookie season in St. Louis, as he's one of the only good players on a struggling Blues' team. Berglund has 14 goals and 15 assists this season, ranking him second among rookies this season. He is establishing himself as a solid top six forward and if the Blues were healthy this season, they would have themselves a couple good lines, thanks to this exceptional Swede.
The second round could also potentially see a number of disappointing rookies hit the wall and be dropped. Steven Stamkos and Kyle Turris, both thought to be huge offensive threats this season, have disappointed their fantasy owners this year and could possibly be dropped.
Well, there you have it. A decent looking mock draft. We'll see in a couple weeks time, how it all shapes up.
